For the past couple of weeks I have been photographing and editing the fantastic new range of Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars characters. Why? For fun, of course!
With their cute cartoon-like features they seemed like an obvious choice to get creative with. Due to the size of these action figures meant this would become a macro shoot, which wasn’t an issue, as the detailing on them is great. I photographed them individually and in battle mode to give different perspectives and interest. The effects you see are a mixture of in-camera and Photoshop.
Getting crafty with flour, water and incense allowed me to create the atmosphere and Photoshop added a few extra tweaks like lighting up lightsabers or adding the blaster effects. Lighting was paramount, and the perfect tool for the job was the Magmod Modifier System. Not only is it super simple to use, but it has all the modifiers you would need and works with any flash.
